Rx: for the one who keeps performing
The Circus You Didn’t Build
You want to be loved.
Cherished.
Admired
in every room you walk into;
and that wanting
has quietly moved into the space
between your mind and your chest,
where the conflict lives.
It’s your show.
But you handed someone else
the circus.
You let them decide
when you are happy.
When you are allowed to be angry.
What you should dream about.
What counts as failure.
Stop.
Look past the smoke and mirrors;
who is looking back at you?
Who is staring back at you?
Someone aching to be loved?
Someone desperate to be understood?
Someone who looks like they have it all together?
Someone who is two seconds
from it all boiling over?
Here is what I need you to hear:
You get to choose
who you are.
You get to decide
who receives your time,
your energy,
the soft parts of you
not everyone has earned.
You get to open the circle.
You get to close the door.
Your intuition has been talking.
It is time you listened.
Dosage: Read when you’ve been shrinking to fit someone else’s version of you. Repeat until you remember the circle is yours.
Refills: Unlimited. See you next Tuesday.
