You Respond to Everyone Else’s Emergencies. Who Helps You With Yours?
First responders are trained to respond. You learn how to assess the situation, control the chaos, do the job, and move on to the next call.
But the nervous system doesn't always get the memo that the call is over.
Repeated exposure to trauma can show up in ways that aren't always obvious at first: irritability, anger, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, sleep problems, intrusive memories, burnout, isolation, relationship difficulties, or feeling like you can't fully switch off.
Sometimes it's one call.
Sometimes it's years of calls.
Sometimes it's what happened when you weren't on duty at all.
Therapy doesn't have to mean sitting in an office and repeatedly retelling every terrible thing you've experienced. Trauma therapy can be structured, collaborative, and tailored to how you actually function.
At Ember & Lighthouse Wellness, Lexi works with first responders who may be dealing with PTSD, traumatic experiences, cumulative exposure, burnout, grief, relationship strain, or simply the feeling that something has changed and they don't know how to get back to themselves.
You can be capable, strong, and still need somewhere to put what you've carried.
