Rx: For the one who is grieving something unnamed
Fog with No Shoreline
Not all grief has a name.
Some of it is fog —
a slow grey weight
that comes without a story,
without a date,
without a reason you can explain
to the people who ask
what’s wrong.
You don’t owe them a reason.
Grief does not need a receipt.
Walk slowly.
The fog is not the whole world.
It just feels like it right now.
And the shore
is still the shore,
even when you can’t see it.
Dosage: Read when you feel sad and don’t know why. Repeat until the fog feels like weather, not a permanent address.
Refills: Unlimited. See you next Tuesday.
